Personal training account: the government will ban telephone canvassing – BFM Business

Faced with the explosion of scams to the personal training account (CPF) via the sending of SMS or telephone canvassing, the government will soon table an amendment to prohibit these practices.

Who in France has not received in recent months an SMS, an email or a phone call concerning the personal training account (CPF)? “Urgent: you will lose your rights. Consult your budget and claim your training”, indicates the message accompanied by a link to a more than doubtful Internet address.

Behind these messages, pure scams or companies that try to force them to take training as quickly as possible by threatening to lose their rights. Nothing more wrong. You do not risk losing the hours of training acquired unless you respond to these messages.

According to information from Parisian, the government will very soon table an amendment to the finance bill to ban these practices.

“It is a question of drawing inspiration from the law put in place after the abuses observed within the framework of the energy renovation which prohibits any telephone canvassing”, indicates daily the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne.

Never answer

For many training centers, the CPF is more than attractive. The 38 million CPFs represent more than 50 billion euros saved and managed by the Caisse des Dépôts. These amounts also attract many crooks who sell training that does not exist or empty accounts outright if the recipient of the message enters his username and password by clicking on the Internet link.

“When you are called to talk about your training account, hang up,” warns Michel Yahiel, the director of pensions and solidarity at the Caisse des Dépôts, which manages the CPF.

Last May, Michel Yahiel already assessed these frauds at around 12 million euros.

When receiving these messages, the only rule to respect is that which applies to sensitive data (bank, insurance, etc.): never transmit personal information. Especially since the Caisse des Dépôts never directly contacts an asset, unless the latter has requested it.
