Eric Zemmour at the origin of a new controversy, this time about the attacks of November 13, 2015. While France commemorated the six years of the drama, on Saturday, the polemicist went in the evening in front of the Bataclan room, where 90 people were killed in these attacks.

On the spot, he reiterated accusations made in previous days against former President François Hollande, whom he accuses of “not having protected the French” by letting refugees enter the territory in the months preceding the attacks.

Assuring to be based on the testimony of François Hollande this week at the trial of the November 13 attacks, Eric Zemmour explained, Saturday evening, that the former head of state “knew that terrorists would be infiltrated among the migrants” and that he “did not stop the flow of migrants”. “I just said what happened”, he insisted. “So François Hollande was not unaware of it, he did not protect the French. He made an absolutely criminal decision to leave the borders open”, added the polemicist, evoking a “war of civilization” on French soil.

Sunday morning, on Europe 1, Marion Maréchal said “not to believe that there was the intentionality of François Hollande”, while considering, like the polemicist, that “his irresponsibility at the time was criminal”.

“The words of the extreme right, and in particular the statements of Eric Zemmour, are at the same time unfounded, indecent and unworthy”, replied François Hollande on Sunday morning on Radio J. “All those who are in the deviation, the drift, the hysterization, the manipulation […] must be set aside in the Republican Pact. “

“The terrorists of November 13 came from Belgium, they are Belgian or French”, he stressed, recalling also the measures taken at the time to “control external arrivals“to the European Union. “It’s indecent to be in front of the Bataclan, to talk about the war of civilization in front of the building itself” resuming “the very language of terrorists”. And it’s “unworthy because it suggests that those who ruled France are criminals”, added François Hollande.

A little earlier, on Twitter, former Prime Minister Manuel Valls denounced “lies”. “It is not only a question of being indignant at such remarks, but of replying point by point to the lies distilled by this character whose sole purpose is to sow doubt and hatred”, did he declare.

The three assailants who carried out the Bataclan attacks on behalf of the Islamic State on the evening of November 13, 2015, were born in France.

Vigorous reaction, too, on the side of the victims and their relatives. Arthur Dénouveaux, president of the association of victims Life for Paris, described on Twitter Eric Zemmour of “burial desecration”. “No politician had ever spoken on November 13 on one of the targeted sites”, he pointed out, citing in a press release a “unspoken rule” respected since the drama.

“It is political cowardice to use these victims. It is not possible to use false, unfounded and unfair information to rekindle this pain,” abounded on BFMTV Me Samia Maktouf, lawyer for forty civil parties in the ongoing trial of the attacks.
