Forza Horizon 5 in ray tracing available everywhere on PC (thank you mods) – Xboxygen

The PCists who have just acquired Forza Horizon 5 can smile. Ray-tracing is available almost everywhere as you can see in the latest video from Digital Foundry.

A broken barrier thanks to PC mods

While Forza Horizon 5 continues to set records at high speed, since its release, the latest home opus from Playground Games can also count on another major asset: ray-tracing offered in full in all game modes on PC.

Those of you who already own the game on Xbox Series X already know that ray tacing is only enabled in Forza Vista and Garage modes. A limitation that does not exist on PC thanks to the famous mods and which allows you to take advantage of ray tracing in the middle of the race.

Thus, to better appreciate the benefits of this technology, Digital Foundry has published a new video which allows us to visualize the various performance tests carried out. Without losing a moment, the video highlights the advantages of ray tracing via the photo mode where the lighting effects offer a visual rendering that is at the very least striking.

Even stronger, ray-tacing can be activated in all other game modes, whether you are racing or simply heating the rubber to practice.

It’s not perfect, but almost

The only existing limitation concerns the interior of vehicles that cannot take advantage of this advantage. The demonstration video sometimes offers examples of which the improvements may seem minimal, but the overall rendering remains of high quality.

We owe this feat to a participant in the DF Supporter Program, who worked hard to make ray-tracing available everywhere to offer you an even better experience. It’s very simple, even the cutscenes benefit from it.

For now, we do not know if ray tracing will one day be offered in full on console versions given the computing power that it requires, but what is certain is that it throws.
