Radičová has sharply criticized politicians: We are not a normal country! We have broken through the bottom, we are in the stage of disintegration – Topka

The coronavirus, the reform of hospitals and the court map, controversial section 363, the government crisis – these are all topics that have shaken up and down in recent times. However, politicians are most busy with the coronavirus pandemic and the third wave caused by the so-called delta variant. The situation in Slovakia is not good at all and this is due to the low vaccination rate.

According to former Prime Minister Iveta Radičová, we are experiencing a dizzying change that we must get used to. In addition, we experience a lot of uncertainty and, according to sociologists, it is natural for us to grow angry, restless, even aggressive. “We’re looking for a foothold, we want to know where it’s true, trust someone,” Radičová stated in the program It’s about the truth. As she explained, however, it is not only a problem of Slovakia, but also of other countries. According to her, many developed countries are struggling with the tensions of society, which will cause even greater dramatization and grow into aggression.

In addition, he claims that we have never been surrounded by as much conflicting information as we do now, and so we are now debating the facts. However, finding the right truth in that amount of information is, according to Radičová, the most difficult task we will have to deal with, and therefore we should not give up. “The world is in control. It is no longer that I protest for my opinion, but those protests have changed radically, they have changed their nature, and it is no longer about assertion, but about liquidation, silencing of others, “ the prime minister said, adding that this was an extremely dangerous and fundamental shift.

According to Radičová, the fact that the socio-economic situation has not been favorable for 12 years is also a very serious source of tension. She pointed out that people around the capital are dealing with completely different problems than somewhere in the regions – the main problem there is the fear of losing a job.

Radičová also claims that even if people have several human rights, freedom of speech and expression cannot be taken at the expense of health. In addition, she outlined another serious problem. “We can’t threaten a cop to kill their children. That is unacceptable. In a decent society, an attack on children and families is something, in everyday behavior people are condemned. “ said Radičová. She reacted to several protests, where anti-vaxers and deniers of veils or government measures cursed the police and threatened to kill their children.

In the discussion session, she also touched on the current atmosphere in politics. She explained that it is common everywhere in the world for the opposition to look for mistakes in the coalition and government and they then abuse them as its weakness. However, in developed countries, it is normal for a coalition to join the opposition in a serious situation, such as a pandemic.

However, while the coalition environment shows a massive vaccination campaign, the opposite is true of the opposition. “We are a very specific country, unfortunately. In developed countries, only extremist political actors abuse serious issues to their advantage. And not parties that are in the so-called mainstream. In our country, for example, Smer is presented, “ said Radičová, according to which her representatives add oil to the fire on the daily agenda instead of calming the passions.

At the end, Radičová also commented on the current situation in the coalition. She pointed out that although several necessary reforms are currently being addressed, the coalition is not united in pushing them. For example, they often have to vote for a law in parliament. It is, for example, the reform of health care, the court map or national parks – all these reforms are met with criticism and refusal of support from Boris Kollár and his deputies.

“Politicians’ responsibility is crucial, and it cannot go on like this.” Radičová stated, while critically evaluating the coalition differences. “The coalition is de facto broken. They have a constitutional majority, but they count the votes to pass a common law,” she added. To the fact that many reforms are boycotting just the coalition deputies from We are a family, she said: “The only way is to approve them without Boris Kollar.” Among other things, she said that she could hardly imagine ruling Boris Kollár. “We are not a normal country. We did not make enough use of November ’89. We still need to get on our noses to remember. “ concluded.
