The end of the year is often synonymous with a lot of expenses and a tight budget for many French people. Between Christmas gifts, travel during school holidays, taxes payable and rising bills in many areas, the bank account can quickly fall into the red.

Fortunately, many aid must be paid by December, especially in the most modest households. Overview.

Inflation allowance of 100 euros

It will concern 38 million French people. Employees in the private sector, civil servants, retirees, job seekers, students, etc. who earn less than 2,000 euros net per month, will receive an “inflation” bonus of 100 euros in December or at the start of 2022.

This boost from the state, announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex on October 21, 2021, should make it possible to cope with the rise in gas and fuel prices in particular. No action will be necessary to receive this indemnity. We will detail you in this article all the criteria to be able to benefit from it.

An extension on the energy check

This is yet another gesture by the government to help the poorest cope with soaring energy prices. Last September, Jean Castex announced the payment of an additional 100 euros to the 5.8 million households benefiting from the energy voucher.

This extension complements the energy check sent last spring to the eligible population. As a reminder, the energy check is used to pay energy-related expenses: bills for electricity, natural gas, heating oil, wood or liquefied petroleum, for example.

The beneficiaries will be allocated the envelope of 100 euros automatically, without having to take any action, “during the month of December by post”.

The traditional Christmas bonus

It’s a classic of the end of the year: the Christmas bonus. It is paid by the CAF and Employment center to certain beneficiaries of social minima. Thus, it will be allocated to you automatically only if you received one of these benefits in November:

  • Active solidarity income (RSA)
  • Lump sum premium for resumption of activity
  • Specific solidarity allowance (ASS)
  • The specific solidarity training allowance (ASS-F)
  • Pension equivalent allowance (AER)
  • Public internship remuneration (RPS)
  • The remuneration of the Pôle emploi training (RFPE)
  • Support for the creation and takeover of a business (ACRE-ASS)

the Christmas bonus amount is unchanged from year to year. If you receive RSA, then it depends on your family situation: CAF will pay you between 152.45 euros for a single person and 442.10 euros for a couple with four children (to which are added 60.98 euros per additional person ). If you are in one of the other situations listed above, then you will receive 152.45 euros from Pôle Emploi, regardless of the number of people in your household.

When at the payment date, it has not yet been revealed. It usually takes place a few days before Christmas. In any case, there is nothing to do. Last year, 2.5 million households benefited from it.

The “Macron bonus” (if you haven’t already received it)

Finally, let’s not forget the exceptional purchasing power premium, also known as the “Macron premium”. If some have already received it, others can still touch it, and why not in December. Employers who wish to pay it to their employees can do so until March 31, 2022.

To benefit from the Macron bonus, you must earn less than three times the minimum interprofessional growth wage (Smic) per month. And since the minimum wage increased slightly in October, all employees earning up to a maximum of 4,768.41 euros gross can potentially claim it.

This premium, exempt from tax, social security contributions and contributions, is 1,000 euros. It can be increased to 2,000 euros in the event of a profit-sharing agreement or “if the company or the branch formally commit to actions to promote second-line workers”, specified last June to actu.fr the Ministry of the Economy.

And good news, if you are eligible for all these aids, know that they are cumulative.
