KREFELD – Slovak hockey representatives Filip Krivošík and Jozef Baláž had positive tests for the corvirus before the opening match of the German Cup and will not play in the tournament. Apart from them, their roommates Michal Ivan and Samuel Buček, who remained in quarantine, did not play against Switzerland on Thursday (4.15 pm).

During the preparation in Slovakia, all team members were tested by a PCR test with a negative result. Two positive cases appeared on the tournament venue after tests from the organizer on Thursday. “We will play against the Helvetians in a slightly cut line. Two players and their roommates must remain in quarantine. It has thwarted our plans a bit, but we believe that we will play a good match and the players will show what is in them.” said the general manager’s assistant Oto Haščák before the match.

Krivošík, Baláž, Ivan and Buček will not play against the Swiss. As the two players with a positive result must remain in quarantine for the following days, they will not enter the tournament at all.
