Staff member holding dying cameraman in arms, now suing Baldwin and seeking compensation – PRAVDA.sk

A member of the filmmaker Rust filed a lawsuit against actor Alec Baldwin on Wednesday, who inadvertently shot cameraman Halyna Hutchins last month.

According to Reuters, Baldwin and other filmmakers were killed through negligence.

On October 21, while filming a western, Rust in New Mexico fired Baldwin from a sharp ammunition. However, he was previously told that the weapon was not dangerous. Forty-two-year-old cinematographer Hutchins lost her life and 48-year-old director Joel Souza suffered a shoulder injury.

Serge Svetnoy accused producers and other staff members of not meeting safety standards. The Santa Fe authorities are still investigating the case and have not yet charged anyone with the matter.

“Simply put, there was no reason to have a sharp bullet in that Colt 45 caliber revolver, or to be anywhere anywhere in the filming of Rust. The presence of the bullet in the revolver posed a deadly threat to everyone near it, “the lawsuit said.

Svetnoy was one of the few staff members who were right at the time of the fatal accident. He said in a lawsuit that he was holding Hutchins in his arms as she bled from a wound in her chest, which he said would “haunt him forever.” It therefore seeks an unspecified amount than compensation.

The lawsuit is directed, among other things, at gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez, who was in charge of the guns, and assistant director Dave Halls, who told investigators that it was he who handed Baldwin the gun during training.
