Sulík faces another revelation! The lawyer with whom his daughter introduced him sued the state, he now represents him – Topky.sk

The possibility that Zigo’s lawyer, who was also on board a plane to Dubai, was investigated by the daily SME. Zigo is close to the Deputy Prime Minister and SaS leader himself, through his own daughter, who arranged a joint meeting for them, which Sulík confirmed at the last briefing. He allegedly convinced him with his qualities so much that he used his services within the state.

It is Zigo who now represents the state in the multi-million dollar conflict between FENS and the Office of Network Industries (ÚRSO). There would be nothing wrong with that if it weren’t for Zigo again, who was involved in the same dispute, directly through the aforementioned FENS company.

In the year, it bought the bankrupt company Korlea Invest, which was resolving this dispute at the time. It consisted in the fact that Korlea Invest requested in 2008 to stop charging a fee of EUR 6,815,853 for the export of electricity abroad and to return millions of euros already paid. The state refused, but Korlea had already paid and demanded its money even before the European Court of Justice, which ultimately ruled in its favor.

What was the million-dollar fee for?

The answer to what the fee that caused the whole dispute was determined is still in the distant past. With this new, special fee, the state wanted to ensure that there was enough domestic electricity left in the Slovak energy network, as two units of the Jaslovské Bohunice nuclear power plant had already been shut down at that time.

In July 2014, Zig’s company FENS spol bought a stake in the bankrupt Korlea Invest. In the dispute with the state, he thus became the legal successor. In less than a month, Zigo decided to leave the company and also got rid of its stake in it. The share was sold to a certain Katarína Buociková, who so far owns and manages FENS. “I only saw the lady during the transfer of ownership. They hired Zig, even though the dispute had already been decided against the state

Now it remains a big secret why today, in this dispute, the state, led by the current government, hired Ziga, who was already operating “on the other side” of the dispute. The head of ÚRSO Andrej Juris explains the choice of Zigo by the fact that there are few specialists in the field of energy in Slovakia, Zigo is said to have good references and Juris himself has known him for ten years.

Zigo doesn’t see the dispute, we’re not stuntmen after all

Independent lawyer Radovan Pala also commented in this case, who clearly sees the problem. “In the private sphere, it is very difficult to imagine that in a dispute in which the defendant is seeking payment of a claim, it is precisely the services of a lawyer who previously owned and managed the company claiming the claim.” pala thinks.

“If a public authority chooses to represent in a dispute someone who has acquired the same claim in his company in the past, it is questionable whether such an authority is acting in its best interests.” Pala added.

Zigo did not really formally violate the law. In the state’s dispute with FENS, he did not act as a lawyer, but “only” as an entrepreneur. He therefore thinks that, despite the attention, this is not a conflict of interest. “We are not stuntmen. We are also aware of the current affairs about me and Minister Sulík, which are on the verge of death.” Zigo said, adding that he and the head of the office, Juris, had given sufficient consideration that there was nothing “problematic” about it. The case can now be decided by the Slovak Bar Association.

Last week, the SaS chairman himself also faced questions about Zig’s lawyer. However, Sulík denies that he would play any role in the fact that Zigo ended up as a state lawyer. “I don’t know how he got to the contract, let Mr. Juris or Mr. Zigo explain it. I didn’t know he had a contract.” said Sulík.

He admitted that the daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander, who, like Zigo, traveled to Dubai for Expo 2020 at the meeting between Zig and Sulík. He allegedly found out that he was a “capable man”. “I found out that he really knows energy. I suggested that he go to represent the state at Slovenské elektrárne and I am satisfied with it,” Sulík reacts to another stain that Zigo received as part of the state’s representation.

In the end, they decided to end their cooperation with Zig

On Wednesday, however, after several media coverage, ÚRSO decided to take a drastic step and end its cooperation with the law firm Ius Aegis of lawyer Ziga. “It would be extremely inappropriate for the position of the Office representing the State in a given dispute with an exceptional financial scope to become more difficult as a result of purposeful allegations and information from recent days, the relevance of which will be verified for a longer period.” explained ÚRSO.

‘All the relevant legal acts of Fens in the present case with the Office and the State were not taken until Mr Zigo was no longer a partner and managing director of that company. with the Office and therefore did not take any legal action against the Office in the dispute in question. “ said the head of ÚRSO Juris
