Sleeping too soon or too late can cause you problems. Scientists have uncovered the most risky time to sleep – Startitup

People who go to bed regularly between 22:00 and 23:00 may be at lower risk of cardiovascular disease, according to a study by British researchers published in the European Heart Journal. The British public station BBC informed about it.

The researchers examined data from 88,000 volunteers who wore a specialized device on their wrists that collected data on their sleep for seven days.

The risk of falling asleep is after midnight

The researchers then monitored the participants’ health for the next six years or so, specifically the health of their circulatory system.

During that time, 3,000 participants developed cardiovascular disease, most of whom went to bed outside the “ideal” time range from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Although we cannot infer causality from our study, the results suggest that falling asleep too early or too late is likely to disrupt the body rhythm, which can have adverse effects on cardiovascular health.“The author of the study, David Plans, explained.

“The most risky time (to fall asleep) was after midnight,” added Plans.

7 to 9 hours of sleep is required

Sufficient sleep is important for our overall health, as well as heart and circulatory health – most adults should try to sleep seven to nine hours each night, said Regina Giblin, a nurse at the cardiology department.

However, sleep is not the only factor that can affect heart health. It is also important to look at your lifestyle, be aware of your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly and limit your salt and alcohol intake. A balanced diet can also help keep your heart healthy,Giblin added.
