GUADALAJARA – Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit entered the WTA Tour World Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico with a victory. In Wednesday’s opening match at the championship tournament, as the eighth seed, she won over tournament two Barbora Krejčíková from the Czech Republic 6: 3 and 6: 4 in a group called Teotihuacán.

Winner Roland Garros Krejčíková plays in the tournament for the first time in singles, for the third time in total. In the first set, she failed as she had hoped and lost it after half an hour 3: 6. She lost the serve in the fourth game and did not win a single breakball during the first act. The Estonian confirmed good form when she won tournaments in Cluj and Moscow in October, as well as in the second set. Right in his first game, the opponent took the service and finished the match. During her debut in this tournament, she immediately managed to win her first victory. It was the first duel between the two protagonists.
