Speak in Spanish to Amazon’s Second Generation Echo Buds

(CNN Spanish) – Amazon wants its virtual assistant to be everywhere and in several languages, which is why after the launch of the second generation of Echo Buds, the e-commerce giant integrates the Spanish language into its new smart headphones.

“We have had a great response from the Hispanic community in the rest of our Echo devices and we know how important it is to be able to communicate with Alexa in your language, where you feel most comfortable,” Carlos Pérez, senior management manager of Alexa products.

According to the Center for Immigration StudiesBy 2018, there were more people speaking Spanish at home in the United States than in any country in Latin America, with the exception of Mexico, Colombia and Argentina. In the last decade, the total Hispanic population grew 23% nationwide.

In addition to having the characteristics of the latest generation headphones – such as active noise cancellation technology and wireless charging – the second generation Echo Buds allow the user in the United States to access Alexa services in Spanish on the go, and be it to play your favorite music, to receive directions while driving or to keep control of your exercise routines.

Echo Buds are tied to the language enabled in the Amazon Alexa app. To make the modification it is necessary to enter More> Settings> Settings from the Alexa app and select the Spanish (United States) language. For now, Alexa’s multilingual mode is not available on the brand’s headphones.
