An internal source has now confirmed to FonTech.sk that the HBO Max service will be introduced in Slovakia in the second half of February 2022. The same source also confirmed to our editorial office that the transition between the existing HBO Go platform and its successor will be smooth and will take place within one day.

The price is still unknown, but it will be attractive

The price with which HBO Max will be presented in our region remains a mystery, but HBO was pleasantly surprised to present its expansion to Europe in selected countries – the monthly subscription in these countries is € 8.99 and is not expected in our region. should be higher.

In addition, the service comes with attractive discounts for an annual subscription, which in the mentioned countries amounts to € 69.99. Users will thus receive a 4-month free subscription and the average price per month in this case will be approximately € 5.80. Just for comparison, our HBO Go subscription costs € 5.99 per month.

Goodbye, HBO Go

With the arrival of HBO Max, the current HBO Go service will be discontinued. However, the source FonTech.sk indicates that existing HBO Go subscribers will automatically continue with the HBO Max subscription and the transition from one platform to another will be smooth.

In addition to a higher image resolution and a more accessible user interface, users can also look forward to a significant expansion of the service’s content offering. HBO Max will offer an extremely diverse library of more than 2,000 films and 580 series.

In total, the subscriber service promises more than 10,000 hours of attractive content. It will also feature films and series with Slovak subtitles and dubbing, which HBO began integrating into its content earlier this year.
