OSLO. Norwegian police shot a man in Oslo on Tuesday who threatened passers-by with a knife. With reference to the statement of the local authorities, the AP agency informed about it.

The Norwegian media published footage of the alleged assailant with a knife, naked to the middle waist. Police first indicated that the incident claimed several injuries. However, she later reported that only one police officer was slightly injured.

According to Police Chief Egil Jörgen Brekke, there is still no indication that the incident is terrorist-related.

Police chased the man by car in the Bislett district in northern Oslo. She hit the wall of the building to keep him from moving on. However, according to police spokesman Torgeir Brenden, the man subsequently opened the door of the car and attacked the police.

The spokesman added that “several shots” were subsequently fired at the man. He did not specify whether the police started shooting. He added that the attacker was then taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
