Košice and its surroundings will be in the black phase from next week COVID vending machine. It informs the city on its website. Mobile vaccination units will be available at selected busy locations from Tuesday to Saturday (November 13) and experts will answer questions from the public.

“If we want to have a more pleasant Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Košice than a year ago, and if we want to help overworked paramedics in hospitals, I ask everyone who has postponed it so far to consider getting vaccinated,” said Mayor Jaroslav Polaček. He also mentioned sports, meeting at Christmas markets or visiting restaurants. “In burgundy, it is possible with certain restrictions, but in black, unfortunately not,” he added.

Mobile vaccination units will be available in cooperation with the Košice self-governing region from 3 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday in the shopping center in the West district (district), on Wednesday (November 10) at the Lower Gate on Hlavná Street, on Thursday (November 11). .) at the shopping center in the ramp-free car park on Braniskova Street, on Friday (November 12) on Alžbetiná Street in the city center and on Saturday (November 13) from 9.00 to 12.00 at the shopping center in the North District. Applicants will receive a single dose of Janssen or a vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech.

In addition to the possibility of being vaccinated against COVI-19, there will also be experts available to answer questions from the public. “It will also be possible to discuss vaccination, immunity and disease prevention with epidemiologists everywhere,” the municipality said.

Polaček stated that with every vaccinated Košice, the collective immunity in the city increases. He reminded that in order for Košice to be able to get out of the black again in the coming weeks, a little more than a thousand people over the age of 50 should be vaccinated.

The idea of ​​coming to busy places with a mobile vaccination unit is also supported by the mayor of the Staré Mesto district, Igor Petrovčik. He reminded that the return to the lighter colors of the COVID slot machine will mean not only fewer restrictions for citizens, but also more life and bustle in the city center.
