COPENHAGEN. Less than two months after the lifting of all anti-pandemic restrictions, Denmark will reintroduce the obligation to prove the so-called covidpasom, due to the sharp increase in the number of cases coronavirus. This was announced on Monday by the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the AFP agency informed.

Obligation to prove with a certificate of vaccination whether a negative test was recommended by the epidemic commission, which proposed to consider covid as a “socially critical disease,” Frederiksen said.

“The government will follow this recommendation,” she added.

People will have to prove themselves with digital covidpas when entering bars, restaurants and nightclubs and it will be mandatory for people aged 15 and over.

The fact that the government plans to demand the submission of a covidpas again in connection with the deteriorating epidemiological situation was previously reported by the local television station TV 2.

As Reuters pointed out, the daily increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Denmark has been steadily rising in recent days – from around 200 in mid-September to more than 2,000.

Denmark has lifted all anti-pandemic restrictions since mid-September due to high vaccination rates. The measures in the country were valid for 548 days and Denmark became one of the first countries in the European Union to repeal all measures.

Currently, 85.9 percent of all people over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated in a country of 5.8 million, according to AFP.
