The Slovak hockey club iClinic Bratislava Capitals has asked the international ICE Hockey League to suspend their participation in other matches of the season. The management of the club decided to do so after last week’s tragic events that hit him.

OPINION ICLINIC BRATISLAVA CAPITALS ON PARTICIPATION IN ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE:

“Due to the tragic events that have hit our club in recent days, we have decided to ask the leadership of the multinational ICE Hockey League to suspend our participation in future matches this season. The club has decided not to play the league this season, but it is not voting for the league. We will be waiting for feedback from the league management.

For now, we thank our players for their efforts so far and their hockey hearts, which they left on the ice in every single match. We believe that the fans will understand this decision and support us in this difficult time. “

The club was hit by two tragic reports in a few days. Two weeks ago, forward Boris Sádecký collapsed on the ice of the Austrian Dornbirn on Friday, was in serious condition and eventually died of heart failure on Wednesday at the age of 24. Two days later, the vice-president and general director of the club, Dušan Pašek Jr., also died.
