Sergio “Checo” Pérez climbs to the podium at the Mexican Grand Prix after a tough battle with Lewis Hamilton

(CNN Spanish) – Sergio “Checo” Pérez took third place in the Mexican Grand Prix this Sunday after a tight race in which he battled from the first laps with British driver Lewis Hamilton, from Mercedes.

Hamilton therefore took second place and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen handily won first place in the Grand Prix.

With third place, “Checo” Pérez made history by becoming the first Mexican Formula 1 driver to reach a podium in the Mexican Grand Prix.
