Mollet punishes the Gym – Debrief and NOTES of the players (Nice 0-1 MHSC) – Maxifoot

Man of the match: Maxime Esteve (7/10)

From the height of his 19 years, the central defender donned the costume of captain and symbolized the strength of the defense of the MHSC. Winner of 8 of his 10 duels, the Montpellirain made several saving interventions in his surface in the second period, not hesitating to give of his person, as when against Delort on his chisel returned. Youcef Atal (5.5): the right side was one of the few hard-hitting Niois in the first half and he regularly made differences in his lane. Jean-Clair Todibo (5): the central defender put a lot of aggressiveness in the duels, sometimes too much, and does not go far from causing a penalty on two disputed contacts with Wahi then Mavididi at the start of the game. Applied elsewhere.

Dante (5): contrasting match for the central defender, who really aged on certain actions against the liveliness of the opposing attackers, but who reigned in boss the rest of the time and also showed his advantage in an offensive register .

Melvin Bard (4,5): unhappy in his duel with Mavididi, the left side turns despite him into a decisive passer for Mollet. Too bad because the former Lyonnais performed rather an interesting part with a lot of commitment on his climbs.

Lucas Da Cunha (5): new holder, the attacking midfielder showed great things and established himself as one of the best Niois in the first period, with a lot of determination and a constant desire to play forward. Omlin defeats him when he comes back from the locker room. Replace the 68th minute with Pablo Rosario (not rated).

Mario Lemina (5.5): aligned very low, the midfielder has often given the impression of evolving like the 3rd central defender. Interesting in his placement and his interceptions, the Gabonese played a serious game but he too seldom exceeded his function to try to unbalance the opposing block. He still finds the bar when he comes back from the locker room. Replace the 68th minute with Kasper Dolberg (not rated).

Khphren Thuram-Ulien (6): preferred Rosario, the midfielder proved his coach right by offering a large volume of play and showing a lot of determination on each of his interventions. A certain technical waste but also good spurts. Replace the 90th minute with Calvin Stengs (not rated).

Hassane Kamara (4.5): very active, the attacking midfielder has multiplied the races in a very free role which led him to go on both sides of the field. Too rough, however, in his choices (only 71% of successful passes). Replace the 46th minute with Alexis Claude Maurice (4), which started well then which lacked consistency and realism, like the other offensives of the Gym.

Andy Delort (4): eagerly awaited against the club he left last summer, the striker has generally missed his match. Whether in his crosses or his shots, he will have lacked that zest of success that the scorer usually enjoys to find the loophole. His contribution to the game will have been inconsistent.

Amine Gouiri (4,5): like Delort, the attacker was not inspired in his choices in the zone of truth, the image of his pivotal shot which passes over the first Nioise situation of the match. A decent activity but a little below its standards.

MONTPELLIER :

Jonas Omlin (6): vigilant on the long shot from Da Cunha, the goalkeeper was generally not worried but the Swiss made several good outings in front of the opposing attackers on second balls in the area. Saved by his bar on Lemina’s shot.

Salomon Sambia (5): a serious match for the right side who has above all managed to close his lane well, even if he is able to bring more offensively.

Mamadou Sakho (5): with the young Esteve, the central defender held the house and responded present in the duels with the Niois attackers. Author of several important blocks, he however lacked foresight on a few clearances and returned the ball to the opponent.

Mihailo Ristic (5.5): author of the center who brought Mollet’s goal, the left side dropped the horses offensively at the end of the game after having spent most of the game concentrating on defensive tasks to close his lane.

Jordan Ferri (5.5): the midfielder showed good activity in the midfield with constant and valuable efforts in the pressing.

Joris Chotard (4,5): average match for the midfielder, in difficulty in the duels and who suffered from the comparison with Ferri in terms of volume of play.

Elye Wahi (4): holder in the absence of Savanier and following his entry into Russia against Nantes, the winger started the match strong and posed problems for the Nioise defense with his speed and percussion but he then tended to ‘dye over the game. Replace the 67th minute with Nicholas Gioacchini (not rated).

Florent Mollet (6.5): after spending most of the match running in a vacuum and showing little success on his free kicks, the attacking midfielder had the merit of believing it until the end to score the goal of victory.

Stephy Mavididi (5): a poison. Very present at the start of the game, the winger weighed on the Nioise defense and brushed the frame with a shot.
