She thought the sidewalk would not close until January

During the All Saints’ Day, Deputy Prime Minister Remišová went with her family to the Symbolic Cemetery. However, from 1 November, the road leading to the cemetery will be covered by a winter closure. Remišová later admitted the mistake on Facebook. “I walked along the asphalt road to Popradské pleso, which is usually used by cars to the parking lot at the hotel. I turned off the road and walked about 100 meters to the chapel in the Symbolic Cemetery to honor with children the memory of people who died in the mountains. ” started.

According to her, there were a lot of people at the Symbolic Cemetery on this day, and it never occurred to her that this sidewalk to the cemetery was closing on the holiday. According to her, the closure of the Symbolic Cemetery had not been in TANAP’s visiting rules since 1 January. In 2017, however, a new decree came into force, according to which this road is also closed in winter.

“I like the mountains very much, I don’t spend precious free time at breakfast with mobsters or at cottages with doubtful people, instead I try to instill in children a love for the mountains, nature and Slovakia. Of course I’m sorry, I try to respect all restrictions “I have already apologized to the Director of TANAP,” wrote Remišová.

The Deputy Prime Minister is ready to pay the fine and will be happy to go do some voluntary work in the Tatra National Park to make up for her mistake. “I am directly looking forward to the volunteering in the mountains. And I hope that in the new TANAP visitor rules we will return to a solution that has been valid for many years and no one has complained – a symbolic cemetery open for a symbolic day of remembrance of the deceased.” she added.
