How long do they still want to wait competent? This is a question that employers ask themselves. RÚZ recalls that several months ago it pointed out that it is necessary to prepare for this scenario in advance and also to learn from the mistakes of the previous two waves of the pandemic.

The Council recommends tightening up measures

In connection with the worsening of the epidemic situation, the Consular Council recommends tightening the measures in force, including work from the home office, favoring vaccinated people or the obligation for employees to prove their vaccination or overcoming metal with a test, or a negative test result.

Vaccinated and unvaccinated people meet in the workplace, it’s a risk

This idea is not rejected by employers, associations in RÚZ, but they point out that it is necessary to go hand in hand with tools that will ensure the real effectiveness of similar measures. RÚZ drew attention to holes in the legislation in this connection already in the summer. “Vaccinated and non-vaccinated employees have encountered, and continue to be, confronted in the workplace on a daily basis, increasing the chances of the disease spreading. Nevertheless, employers have no opportunity to reliably identify and verify vaccination and disease control information in their work teams.” stated by employers.

According to them, they can ask about it, but whether they get a true answer is up to the voluntary decision of the employees. “The possibility of obtaining this data would help employers to determine the proportion of vaccinated and unvaccinated in the collective, to adapt the operation of their businesses and thus ensure the highest possible level of protection for their employees, whether or not they are vaccinated.” stated RÚZ.

We were able to prepare for the crisis scenario in the summer

Already in the summer, according to them, they could start preparing for crisis scenarios of the development of the epidemic situation and the outbreak of the third wave. Instead, they are still waiting for a “final verdict.” “The Ministry of Labor first promised to resolve the situation through the ÚVZ decree. Later, the Labor Minister came up with the idea of ​​changing the Labor Code and most recently considering a change in the COVID traffic light. We would welcome amendments effectively check that workers are vaccinated and, on that basis, adapt the organization of work in the establishments, ” stressed the president of RÚZ Miroslav Kiraľvarga.

Employers, associated in RÚZ, therefore call on the government to finally present a concrete and effective pandemic management and support plan for the affected sectors, based on positive past experiences or good examples from abroad, instead of thoughts and ideas on how to approach the third wave of the pandemic. “We warned the competent authorities in advance that such a situation would occur. Scientists and experts also warned us about it. We would not like to experience for the third time that the situation will get out of hand again and that households, hospitals, employers and the whole economy. All the more so when it was preventable, ” closes the secretary of RÚZ Martin Hošták.
