Audiences: Historic record for “Face à l’Info” with Eric Zemmour on CNews – OZAP

Eric Zemmour continues to boost CNews audiences in access. Yesterday evening, the undeclared candidate for the 2022 presidential election was the guest of “Face à l’Info”, the daily presented by Christine Kelly on the channel of the Canal + group. A return to his roots for Eric Zemmour, who was the show’s main columnist for two seasons, before having to leave his post in September, after the CSA’s decision to count his speaking time.

For the occasion, CNews had decided to extend Christine Kelly’s show by half an hour, for programming from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and not from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. as usual. After a face-to-face meeting with the presenter, Eric Zemmour then discussed with Henri Peña-Ruiz, philosopher specializing in secularism, then Denis Olivennes, co-manager of the daily “Liberation”.

This return of Eric Zemmour on CNews allowed “Face à l’Info” to beat his historical record on the general public, on the two indicators which are the number of televiewers and the audience share. From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the traditional time slot of the CNews daily, “Face à l’Info” thus brought together 1.1 million faithful, or 5.7% of the general public. A score allowing the channel to beat “Quotidien” on TMC and “Touche pas à mon poste” on C8. On its part, CNews is preceded by TF1, France 2, France 3 and M6. As a reminder, the previous record of “Face à l’Info” in number of viewers dated May 19, 2021 with 893,000 fans. The old record in audience share dates back to July 8, 2021 with 5.0%

If we add the extra half hour exceptionally provided by the channel yesterday, the total viewers remain stable at 1.1 million, for an audience share of 5.6%. CNews is thus on this section comprising the competition of the “20 Hours” the fifth channel in France behind TF1, France 2, France 3 and M6, but ahead of France 5, C8 and TMC. This record for “Face à l’info” allows CNews to sign an audience share of 3.1% on the whole of the day yesterday. TNT channel 16 is ahead of BFMTV (2.5%), LCI (0.9%) and franceinfo: (0.8%).
