A fourth record at the close in a row on the Paris Stock Exchange. The CAC 40, the main stock market index of the Parisian market, followed Friday, November 5 a sixth session of increase, taking 53 points to 7,040.79 points (+ 0.76%), its new high at the close. The index also established a new all-time record in session (7,063.40 points), beating the one established the day before.

The CAC 40 rose 3.08% over the week, bringing its gain since January 1 to 26.83%. For several days, records are linked on the Paris Bourse. The CAC 40 is driven by the inflow of liquidity on the markets and the improvement of the health situation. The previous records dated back to the internet bubble of the year 2000.

The Paris index started at equilibrium on Friday before accelerating with the announcement of the effectiveness of the treatment antiviral against Covid-19 from Pfizer, then with the US employment report. The euphoria, however, subsided a little at the end of the session. This week, “the good news came from the United States”, with “the sweet speech” from the US Federal Reserve (Fed) to investors on Wednesday, as well as “pretty good employment figures” Friday, comments to AFP Frédéric Rollin, investment advisor for Pictet AM.
