His reign is soon coming to an end. Amandine Petit will pass his crown to Miss France 2022 on December 11, in Caen, his birthplace. The opportunity for her to recap her year with Paris Match. La Normande arrives at theNational Hotel of Arts and Crafts in Paris in a lovely khaki dress, “already worn during the Miss Universe contest”. Last touch of lipstick and the maintenance can begin.

For Amandine Petit, the year has passed “much too quickly”. She says she had to leave sometimes a little too hastily signing sessions, leaving on the sidelines some fans who came to meet her. She regrets not being able to hug people due to the coronavirus epidemic. But his optimistic nature quickly regains the upper hand. “All the people that I could meet, the old people that I went to see and to whom I put glitter in the eyes, all the places that I visited, all the dresses that I could try, all the big fashion houses that supported me… It was all really incredible. If I had to relive this year, I would do exactly the same, ”says the 24-year-old.

During this year, Amandine Petit learned a lot. It’s hard not to be charmed by his ease and disconcerting confidence. “As I always say, I started this adventure at 23 years old, I come out at 24 on the calendar… but from a maturity point of view, from all the personal and professional enrichment that I have been able to. win, I come out with 10 more years. I am no longer afraid to move forward, to take risks, to undertake new things, to say yes to projects that may seem a little crazy… Not afraid to give my opinion, to express myself in public in front of a camera, in front of an audience, in front of millions of viewers ”. The 91st Miss France forgot nothing of her first meeting with Nikos Aliagas on the set of “50 Minutes Inside”: “He gave me lots of advice that followed me throughout my year”. And it shows ! “For the anecdote, I took my files from the TF1 program with me to my trip to Miss Universe, to bring me good luck. And it worked since I finished 13th out of so many countries represented [74, ndlr]», Confides the pretty blonde, a smile on her lips.

Amandine Petit decided to resume her studies in September to complete her Master 2 in management of establishments and gerontological structures which she is doing at IAE in Caen. “This is the project that I really want to complete. I was at the end of my Master 2 so it would be a shame to stop there. And at the same time, I would like to continue on radio and TV, ”she explains. “For two months I had this exercise [une chronique hebdomadaire sur Virgin Radio, ndlr], which I really liked. I really had the impression of being in a team of friends and of being there to have fun. I loved doing that, ”says the Caennaise.

“Amandine, every moment that you have available, you sleep”

Throughout the year, the young woman has surveyed the four corners of France. While in Languedoc-Roussillon, she went to discover “the real” cassoulet. “I was inducted by all these people who defend the official recipe of the dish. I had to take an oath that I was in agreement with the cassoulet recipe and that I will not reveal it… so I will not tell you more! ”She blurted out with mischief. Impossible for her to choose her favorite region, “because in addition, people will hate me if I choose one” but she remembers each accent, the different lifestyles between the north and the south. “With the heat of the sun, we are a little quieter, they take more time… As soon as I leave Paris, I have the impression that we take more time. It’s undeniable !”. Amandine Petit was able to discover Parisian life for a year, in the apartment loaned by the company Miss France. She even tried a roommate with her cat, Oslo. “I tried to take my cat to Paris and have him share my life. He obviously did not understand what was happening… he was bored because I was not there enough so very quickly, my parents took him back, ”she says. “I get to see my family from time to time, they came to my home in Paris, I introduced them to that life. Fortunately we have FaceTime, the calls… we had already got used to a life like that, far from our loved ones because of the health crisis. As I only remember the positive of everything, I told myself that I had already got used to the idea of ​​being separated from them ”.

When asked about the valuable advice received by Sylvie Tellier, general manager of Miss France, Amandine Petit does not hesitate for a second. “The day she placed the crown on my head, she told me: ‘Amandine, every moment that you have available, you sleep”. And it really followed me throughout the year. There is another phrase that resonates for a lifetime: “You will never refuse a photo, a dedication with children and with people in general”. She said to me: “You will see, you will go get your bread, do your shopping… and you will not refuse”. And she is right. These are people you only meet once in a lifetime, so you can’t afford to refuse. Even if we are tired, even if we are sick or in a hurry ”.

On the program, camembert, cream and tripe

La Normande does not hide her close links with the previous Misses. “I am very close to Clement Botino. I still had him on the phone yesterday. It was the Miss who gave me her title so I didn’t want to put it aside. When she put the crown on my head, I was holding her hand, I didn’t want to let go. She said to me: “Go go now it’s your turn to go”. She was a real big sister to me, ”she says. Amandine Petit also gets along very well with Camille Cerf, Miss France 2015, “we look a lot alike and we both say what we think. She is super dynamic, super pep ”.

The regional Misses will begin their preparation for the beauty contest on November 17, where they will fly to Reunion. “I imagine, at least I hope, that they have started to prepare themselves because, until the election, everything is very intense. They should not get used too quickly to the heat of Reunion because in Caen, it will be… less hot! ”She laughs. La Normande is eager to introduce 29 young women to her region, in particular the gastronomic specialties. “Camembert ! Cream ! The guts… Well, I’m not sure I will persuade them. I would like to take them to Mont-Saint-Michel, to the landing beaches, to be able to go to the memorial… but we won’t have time to do everything. It will make their mouths water, so they will come back! “
