Another loss for Czech film. The great actress died, and the director Troška – noviny.sk mourns for her

She appeared in minor roles in film and television, often starring in fairy tales. Her typical hairstyle was a bun on her head. Since the 1970s, she has been involved in films in the roles of mothers, neighbors or clerks, such as Vrchní, prchni (1980), What’s at home counts, gentlemen …, 1980), Girl with a shell (1980), smarter, old! (1982), I’m Not Me (1985), Martha and I (1990), Order (1994), Angel Eyes (1994) and Kolya (1996). She has also starred in many television fairy tales, productions and series, such as Alone to Death (2003), Iguo Igua (2003), Second Breath (1988), About Animals and People (1993), There Were Five of Us (1994), Silver Wig (2001). ), A Place Overhead (2004), Family Handcuffs (2004 to 2006) or Street (2005). In recent years, she has appeared in three parts of the film Babovřesky and in one part of Kameňák by director Zdeněk Troška.

He was in contact with her almost until her death. “It’s been about five days we’ve been talking. She told me she had a stroke and she can’t walk. I wanted her to rest and get to her feet quickly. She was one of the actresses he liked for a way of life similar to the one he loves. “I’ve always cast well-tuned people in the film who loved life, other people and had an overview. That’s exactly how she was,” she was remembered by a popular film director who never lacked humor.

Jana Altmannová is also mourned by friends, colleagues and students from the prestigious Prague Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, where she worked as a teacher for many years:

Although the roles of the very handsome gossipers that the actress was known for were not exactly about noble intellectuals, in reality she was, and even by the appearance in the civilian, no one on the street would probably recognize her. She even organized self-presentation and rhetoric courses. “She was an amazing woman. She was very intelligent and very educated. She could play a grandmother from the village, but also a princess.” Troška described it. She was married to the painter and graphic artist Jiří Altmann, but the marriage was childless. She was all the happier in theater and children’s films and devoted herself to students at school.
