Anti covid pill, first UK ok to Merck drug

First green light for Merck’s anti-Covid pill. The British drug agency has authorized the use of the drug called molnupiravir, considered by experts to be an important new tool to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The Mhra, the UK drug agency – the companies communicate in a note – has authorized the antiviral drug for the treatment of mild to moderate Covid-19, in Sars-CoV-2 positive adults who have at least one risk factor for the development of serious disease.Molnupiravir, which is still being examined by other international regulatory bodies, including the American Fda and the Euroepa Ema, in clinical trials has halved the risk of hospitalization or death for those affected from Covid in a mild or moderate form.
