The highest number of infections per day since the beginning of the pandemic has increased – TVNOVINY.sk

In Slovakia, they confirmed 6,713 positive coronavirus, with laboratories performing 21,705 PCR tests on Wednesday. This is the highest daily increase in those infected since the beginning of the whole pandemic. Of the new cases, almost 67 percent were not vaccinated.

We also record 34 deaths from COVID-19.

This time, the most positive tests were in the Prešov Region (1326), followed by the Žilina Region (1106), Košický (1051), Banskobystrický (976), Bratislavský (690), Trenčiansky (619), Nitriansky (525) and Trnavský (420).

There are 1,890 patients with COVID-19 in hospitals. Almost 80 percent of them are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine,

There are 148 patients at JIS, 179 people need the support of artificial lung ventilation.

Vaccination

The total number of people vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine is 2,513,527, with 1,317 vaccinated the previous day. The second dose of the vaccine has already been given to 2,310,101 people, and 1,311 people have been vaccinated the past day.
