CHICAGO – The name of coach Brad Aldrich was retouched on the Stanley Cup, who sexually attacked one of the players in 2010 during the winning campaign of the Chicago hockey players. According to the TSN television station, this happened over the weekend, when the names of this year’s champions from Tampa Bay were engraved for the famous trophy.

Last week, Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz asked a representative of the Hockey Hall of Fame to retouch the name of Aldrich, who was a video coach in Chicago eleven years ago. He stated in the letter that Aldrich did not deserve to be at the trophy due to his behavior. He admitted that the team had made a mistake eleven years ago when he had his name engraved there.

Although the Hall of Fame representatives cannot remove any name from the Stanley Cup, they have covered it with the X series.

Wirtz’s request was another attempt by the Blackhawks to repair the reputation after an independent investigation said the club did not respond quickly and emphatically enough in 2010 to Kyle Beach’s complaint that Aldrich had sexually assaulted him.

In response to the scandal in recent days, General Manager Stan Bowman and Vice President of Hockey Affairs Al MacIsaac have resigned from Blackhawks. After a meeting with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, then-Chicago coach Joel Quenneville also resigned as Florida Panthers coach.
