6.5 million is the total volume of laptops that apple would have managed to ship in the third quarter of 2021 according to the analysis firm Strategy Analytics, whose data is relayed to us by WCCFTech. This performance is matched by solid growth in the market: over the year, Apple was able to count on a 10% increase in shipments for its different MacBooks and now has a 10% market share in the laptop segment.

If this annual increase is partly attributable to the health situation (which has encouraged many consumers to renew their computers for teleworking, then the return to face-to-face), the attractiveness of Apple’s offer is also to be put into the balance. With the introduction of its M1 processors, Apple has managed to give very solid performance to its MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, while offering better battery life. An essential criterion, especially for students.

In this context, 66.8 million computers were shipped, all brands combined, in the third quarter of 2021. And if Apple now ranks fourth among the largest sellers of laptops in the world, the Cupertino giant is still a step behind rivals Dell, HP and Lenovo. We learn in particular that Dell (third in the ranking) has for its part benefited from a 50% increase in its shipments in one year. In Q3 2021, the Texan manufacturer also managed to sell nearly double the units shipped by Apple: 12.2 million Dell-stamped PCs were distributed in the third quarter.
