As many as 24 districts have turned black since Monday. However, the strictest rules of the COVID vending machine apply to these districts, especially in the east of Slovakia – among them, for example, the closure of fitness and wellness centers, or window sales in public catering establishments.

Just against the last rule, one operation in Humenné is rioting – the district belongs to those that have been black since Monday. The owners do not like the fact that they have to completely limit the services only to window sales or delivery, also for the vaccinated. The operation in Humenné is not their only one – they also have it in Poprad or Michalovce. However, even these districts have been black since Monday – with the strictest rules.

“I understand it’s a pandemic. I understand that our politicians are not to blame. I understand that some measures are needed. But what do I not see, how can they leave the facilities that forced the black districts to close without help? ” the owners of the company ask. They are also interested in whether politicians are aware that if they close businesses and allow only window sales, they will endanger self-employed people and employees, who have to support their families as well, and without customers they will not succeed.

“We are not a multinational company, we do not have expensive lawyers or an expensive media campaign to force you to act. But even we small tradesmen have a right to survive. You failed, you couldn’t convince people to get vaccinated, why should we pay for your mistakes?“ stated.

Among other things, they also published photographs showing banners with protesting texts. For example, they point out that politicians receive a payout every month, in any color of the COVID vending machine, but not for self-employed people. They are afraid of the day when their district will turn burgundy or black. It is written on the others “But we have obligations, don’t we?” or “Unfortunately, we are not a retail chain or a multinational company.” In addition, they added that they hinder their livelihoods, families and their rights and freedoms, because they too have to work and pay bills, in every color of the district and in every month without exception.
