The collapse of the cable car on the Czech mountain Ještěd caused a broken tow rope. However, Sunday’s disaster, in which one person died, was to be prevented by other mechanisms. According to the portal TN.cz this was stated by the Czech Railways inspection, which is investigating the tragedy.

The wreck will now be examined for months to find out why the rope broke and why the cab did not brake. The cabin fell at the level of the first support about halfway up the local slope. Firefighters used high-altitude technology to evacuate about 15 people who were in the second cabin and suffered a shock. This cabin remained hanging on the carrying rope.

Among the 15 prisoners was also the family of the Czech actor David Novotný, who informed about it on the social network Twitter. The actor publicly thanked the firefighters for rescuing them.
