BEIJING. Origin report coronavirus, the elaboration of which was ordered to the US intelligence services by the President of the USA Joe Biden, is untrustworthy. A spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, Wang Wen-pin, said on Sunday, Reuters reported.

According to a report on the origin of US intelligence coronavirus published late last week, both theories about the origin of coronavirus are plausible. It is still unclear whether the coronavirus was transmitted to humans naturally from an animal or escaped from a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

China denies coronavirus leak from laboratory

The Chinese State Department responded to the publication of the expanded US intelligence report on Sunday, publishing a statement on its website.

“Repeated deception is still a lie … Investigating the origin of the new coronavirus is a complex issue that should and can only be investigated through international collaboration between scientists,” said Wang Wen-pin, who said the US intelligence services did not have a good reputation.

China has consistently denied the theory that the coronavirus escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan, where the virus was first detected in late 2019.

They criticized the Chinese investigation

A joint study published this year by China and the World Health Organization (WHO) ruled out the theory of the virus escaping from the laboratory and identified natural transmission to humans, probably from animals, as the most likely possibility of the virus’s origin.

However, according to critics, during this investigation, the laboratories in Wuchan did not sufficiently verify, as well as the primary data needed to understand how the virus was initially transmitted.

Last month, the WHO set up a new Scientific Advisory Group on the Origin of New Pathogens (SAGO) and called on China to provide primary data to help the investigation. However, China denied this, citing the right to privacy of the patients concerned.
