Hundreds of households in the Trnava and Žilina regions will be without electricity during the week – TVNOVINY.sk

Central Slovak Distribution (SSD) is preparing several major outages during the next week. Together, they will be felt by approximately 3,500 households in the districts of Púchov, Považská Bystrica, Žilina and Ružomberok. Power engineers are preparing for important repairs or replacement of several technical equipment, said Miroslav Gejdoš, the company’s external communication specialist.

In the Púchov district in the villages of Zubák, Horná Breznica, Dolná Breznica and, marginally, in Lednice-Rovno, the power engineers planned a power outage on Wednesday, November 3, from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm. It will affect approximately 1,400 sampling points. The reason is the reconstruction of the high voltage overhead line.

Residents of Jasenice and Stupného in the Považská Bystrica district should expect electricity shutdowns on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 November between 7.30 am and 9.30 pm. There will be almost 800 consumption points without electricity. During downtime, electricians install a remote-controlled handling element on the high-voltage line.

Several streets in the city of Žilina await a power outage on Friday, November 5, from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm. The power engineers will cut off distribution for 550 households on Anton Bernolák, Juraj Fándlyho, Puškinova, Čajakova and Sad SNP streets. They will do so for transformer station repairs.

Households in Hubová, Švošov (both Ružomberok district) and in the Ružomberok district of Stará Hrboltová will remain without electricity on Friday 5 November from 8.00 am to 3.30 pm. The shutdown will be felt by 800 collection points. The reason will be the repair of the high voltage overhead line.

“In all the mentioned cases, power outages are necessary for the nature of the planned work and especially safety. If circumstances allow, workers can end individual outages in a shorter time, “said Gejdoš.

However, he said, energy officials were asking the affected people to prepare properly for the restrictions and to be patient. “If maintenance work on energy equipment is not carried out in time, it would jeopardize its reliable and safe operation,” he said.
