Slovak firefighters are to help extinguish the largest forest fire in Austria, which has already affected an area of 115 hectares. He broke out near the town of Reichenau an der Rax. They informed about it via the social network Facebook. “A helicopter from the Air Force of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic with firefighters on board and one off-road vehicle with other firefighters and the necessary material resources necessary for the intervention are heading to help in the fight against the forest fire,” stated.

The situation in the Austrian forests is complicated by bad weather and less accessible terrain. The affected area is located in Lower Austria, about 130 kilometers from the Slovak border.

“Our members of the Aeronautical Fire Extinguisher module immediately responded to a request from Austrian colleagues and are currently on their way to the affected area,” explained.

Slovak firefighters also excelled during the summer, when they helped put out fires in Greece. “I believe that their skills, which they have fully demonstrated in fighting fires in Greece, will also help in Lower Austria,” said Minister of the Interior Roman Mikulec (nominee OĽANO).
