Cuba eliminates the mandatory quarantine for international travelers as of November 7

(CNN Spanish) – The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Friday that from November 7, 2021, foreign travelers will be exempted from complying with the mandatory quarantine, and that as of November 15, it will not be necessary to present the PCR test when entering the Island.

The agency affirmed in a statement that all international travelers (Cuban or foreign) who arrive in the country must present a health passport or international certificate of vaccination against covid-19 containing the drugs by the corresponding regulatory agencies.

He also detailed that between November 1 and 7, 2021, a 72-hour quarantine will be established for all international travelers until a negative result of the PCR performed upon entry to the country will be obtained.

The authorities explained that children under 12 years of age, regardless of their nationality, will be exempt from presenting a vaccination schedule or RT-PCR test upon arrival in Cuba.

The measure, according to the health organization, is due to the fact that the country maintains a decrease in the number of confirmed cases of covid-19 with a tendency to control.

According to John Hopkins University, until this Friday, Cuba registered 949,747 cases of covid-19 and 8,219 deaths due to the disease.
