From the territory of the Czech Republic and Slovakia it will soon be possible to observe a beautiful natural phenomenon. From Saturday (October 30) to Sunday, we will be able to watch the aurora borealis over our heads. As for Thu. said astronomer Petr Horálek from the Silesian University in Opava, according to information from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The phenomenon could appear after dark, the conditions for observation will be good. As Horálek stated, it pays to watch all night. The Moon, which will not come out in the second half of the night, should not disturb it either.

The astronomer pointed out that in order to observe, it is necessary to find a place with a perfect view of the north without light pollution and to continuously monitor any

As he writes iMeteo, the highest probability of observing the aurora borealis will be from the north of Slovakia and especially in the mountains in the area of ​​Mala and Veľká Fatra and the High or Low Tatras.

Auroras are created by the interaction of charged particles, which travel continuously from the Sun, with molecules and air atoms in the Earth’s high atmosphere. They commonly occur between 80 and 150 kilometers above the earth’s surface.
