Queen Elizabeth “must rest”: stop for another two weeks

Queen Elizabeth will cancel public commitments scheduled for the next two weeks. Buckingham Palace announced this, reporting that the monarch will follow the advice of her doctors, who have invited her to rest for “at least the next two weeks”. The queen will be able to continue to follow “light” commitments at her “desk” during the day, including some “virtual hearings”, but will not be able to attend “any official visits”. A particular “regret” reason for Elisabetta will be the lack of participation in the ‘Festival of Remembrance’, scheduled for Saturday 13 November. However, Buckingham Palace reports, it remains “the queen’s firm intention to be present at the ‘National Service of Remembrance'” on the occasion of ‘Remembrance Sunday’ on November 14. A source at the Royal Palace told the Telegraph that the queen remains in “good spirits” and that in the afternoon she recorded a video message for next week’s Cop26 Conference in Glasgow.
