EASTERN SLOVAKIA. Several other districts in the east have been turning black since Monday.

The districts of Bardejov, Humenné, Levoča, Medzilaborce, Michalovce, Poprad, Sabinov, Snina, Sobrance, Spišská Nová Ves, Stará Ľubovňa, Stropkov, Svidník and Vranov nad Topľou will be in the third degree of threat.

Compared to the currently valid covid automaton, the number of black districts in the east has doubled, there are fourteen.

Prešov avoided black only thanks to the high vaccination of people in the 50 plus category (more than 65 percent).

Regional hygienists have long agreed that one of the main reasons for the deteriorating situation is, in particular, the low percentage of people vaccinated. Black districts copy those with the lowest vaccination rates.

In the black district of Spišská Nová Ves, for example, it has both benefits vaccines only 36 percent of the population.
