Recollection at ESC Pau: “Sofya, we will never forget you” – La République des Pyrénées

About sixty people gathered this Thursday, at noon, on the forecourt of the Pau Business School (ESC) in memory of Sofya Valery Rudeshko, 34, found dead at her home on the night of Friday to Saturday.

A poignant ceremony where everyone was invited to light a candle near the portrait of the woman whose tragic disappearance caused “a shock”. “All those who knew her were flabbergasted” thus testifies Didier Laporte, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Pau-Béarn.

Sofya Valery Rudeshko joined the ESC team “in May 2015” as admissions manager for international students, recalls Didier Laporte.

“She was a mentor to me”

“She has worked on developing the image of the school, on its international dimension” underlines the director of the establishment Youssef Errami. “Even though she had left school [deouis 2019, ndlr], she had kept a strong bond, ”he adds, moved.

“Sofya, your daring, the energy you deployed to defend this school, will remain engraved in our memory” launches the president of the CCI at the microphone.

“We knew her as a fighter” confides in turn the man who, in 2019, succeeded Sofya Valery Rudeshko. “It’s thanks to her that I’m here,” he adds, his voice choked with sobs.

A condolence book was opened at the ESC reception “for Sofya’s mother,” says Youssef Errami. The principal also indicates “that a minute of silence was observed in many schools”.
