Almost 5,000 more infected people were tested in Slovakia on Wednesday after being tested by the PCR test. In addition, we have learned from regular statistics that up to 79 percent of people in hospitals with confirmed coronavirus are unvaccinated.

A month ago, however, these numbers were much higher – at 83 percent and at the end of the summer at 90 percent. Does this mean that vaccines are ineffective and less effective in combating coronavirus and do not prevent such a difficult course? The doctor of Bratislava Kramárov, Peter Sabaka, claims that he is not.

“So what is it? We have repeatedly mentioned that the proportion of vaccinated and non-vaccinated in the hospital depends not only on the effectiveness of the vaccines, but also on how large the population of vaccinated and non-vaccinated is. Since we know that far more than half of at-risk patients are vaccinated, this means that those vaccinated in the hospital are selected from a larger group, which “optically” inflates their numbers in hospitals.and, ” explained Sabaka on the social network.

The numbers are still rising

As he further explained, in the group of those who are not vaccinated, it is also necessary to take into account people who have already survived the coronavirus. Because they have at least half a year of immunity, just like those who could be vaccinated. Thus, they are protected from the delta variant. Experts have repeatedly pointed out that re-infection with coronavirus is very rare. According to Sabak, up to half of the unvaccinated population may be those who have already survived the coronavirus, and their number is still rising.

This is due to the fact that more and more non-immunized people become infected and thus the group of unvaccinated people is decreasing more and more. And it is this group that is mostly hospitalized in hospitals with a severe coronavirus. “The group of vaccinated shrinks much more slowly, as they get sicked more slowly due to vaccination. In addition, overcoming them does not significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization, as they are already resistant to vaccination (relatively less is reduced, although they are absolutely more protected) – I know it sounds complicated, but what is simple in this pandemic), ’ stated.

According to Sabak, this is also the reason why the proportion of those vaccinated in the hospital is rising – because there are fewer and fewer people who are not immune to coronavirus in any way. Sabaka also looked at the effectiveness of vaccines in terms of the percentage of people vaccinated in hospitals. According to him, however, it is a complex mathematics and the percentage itself does not tell us anything about the effectiveness of vaccines.

However, scientists have repeatedly looked at this issue – both foreign and from Slovakia. And they have repeatedly found that vaccines are up to 90 percent effective. “Thus, vaccines work against the severe course of Covid19. We have confirmed this from several studies and data from Slovakia. We even know that they work 8 months after administration. So there is no need to worry, “ concluded Sabaka.

There was a heated debate under his status. Scientist Pavol Čekan also took part in it. He stated that at present it is probably useless to persuade people and refute their truth. “The express train started up uncontrollably. Next week, we will probably feel the onset. Hold on. Andrej Stančík, a coalition deputy for OĽaNO, also commented on the whole matter. He stated that the Ministry of Health should not publish the percentage of unvaccinated in hospitals, but what chance the vaccinated Slovak has to get to the hospital. “Over 50 years of age, we have been vaccinated with at least 60 percent, and when we add people who have overcome it, less than a third are unimmunized.” he explained his idea. Not only Sabaka, but also the mathematician Richard Kollár agrees with him.
