Weather forecast: a Cévennes episode under surveillance for the long weekend of All Saints’ Day – Midi Libre

For this extended weekend of All Saints’ Day, the rain will be back in the region. A real seasonal weather which should set in from Friday until at least Monday morning.

This Thursday, the clouds are gradually arriving on our departments. Some thunderstorms could break out in the afternoon locally in Gard, Hérault or Lozère. Friday, the rains come back from the Mediterranean and gradually settle in the region. In the afternoon, the precipitation intensifies in the north of Gard and Hérault and in the south of Lozère.

An autumn weekend under surveillance

Saturday, the Cévenol episode becomes more muscular, significant accumulations rains are expected. In the morning, the heaviest precipitation will occur in the north from Gard, South Lozere and a large half is the Herault. At midday, the cells gradually shift towards Ardeche. At the end of the afternoon, the precipitation subsides in Gard, Hérault and Lozère.

Sunday, the rains will generally concern the Gard and particularly the north-east of the department. From stormy bursts are possible in the south of Lozère, Aveyron and Ardèche. Weather models agree and estimate that the accumulations will be much smaller on Sunday.

Monday (again) in the rain

On Monday, the morning should stay rainy on the east of the region. The rains will gradually drain towards the Rhône valley. In the afternoon, residual precipitation will circulate over the region. The following week the weather should remain generally seasonal with alternating sun and rain.

Locally 300 millimeters in the Cévennes

The accumulated precipitation over the weekend could be significant in some areas. The meteorological model ARPEGE of Météo France forecasts between 150 and 200 mm of rains on Cevennes gardoises and locally 300 to 350 mm near Mont Lozère and the Ardèche reliefs. Forecasts that remain to be refined a few hours before the start of the event. The rivers could react moderately depending on the intensities.
