Gazprom will increase natural gas supplies for Europe in November – SME.sk

MOSCOW. Russia will increase gas supplies to Europe in November to help mitigate the effects of the energy crisis. The president ordered the state gas monopoly Gazprom on Wednesday Vladimir Putin.

Deliveries to Germany and Austria will increase as soon as Russia fills its underground storage facilities, the state news agency Tass reported.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said the company could start strengthening supplies on November 8.

Putin has recently repeatedly mentioned deliveries that Russia has already made beyond contractually agreed volumes.

Given the record high gas prices, it is also in favor of the rapid operation of the controversial Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which is to transport Russian gas to Europe after the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

Critics of Gazprom have recently expressed suspicion that the company is not responding to increased demand from Europe in order to force the rapid operation of the pipeline. The Russian side denies the allegations.
