Disney: Buzz Lightyear is not a toy in the movie trailer

Pixar just unveiled the first trailer of Lightyear, the spin-off dedicated to Buzz Lightyear in which the space hero is screaming for realism.

Buzz’s youth

Buzz Lightyear, the bravest astronaut in history, looks more determined than ever to reach infinity and beyond in this first trailer for the film titled Lightyear. If we know the Buzz Lightyear toy on the shelves in Toy Story, Here he emancipates himself in this spin-off which will trace his origins, from his youth as a test pilot, to his crucial flight which will make him become this famous space ranger.

The feature film is directed by Angus MacLane, co-director of Dory’s World and director of the short films Toy story: Anguish at the Motel and Mini Buzz. Here is reassuring when you know that MacLane is a regular in the universe.

Aliens, robots, and a misty planet

Buzz Lightyear had already been adapted by Pixar in the past, in 2000 with the series The Adventures of Buzz the Lightningr as well as the movie Buzz Lightyear, the movie: The Beginning of the Adventures. Here the tidying up of space seems larger than life, and will be opposed to aliens and other robots, at the heart of a mysterious planet which is not unlike that of Dagobah in the Star Wars trilogy.

It was known that Pixar Studios had planned to release the animated film on June 22, 2022, and that Chris Evans, alias Captain america, would dub Buzz L’Eclair. Take off scheduled for next year therefore. In the meantime, here is the long awaited trailer!
