Giro d’Italia, Martin triumphs in the 17th stage

The 17th stage of the 2021 Giro d’Italia saw Daniel Martin (Israel Start-Up Nation) triumph. The Irishman, on the way from Canazei to Sega di Ala, triumphed over the Portuguese Joao Almeyda (Deceuninck-Quick Step) and the English Simon Yates (Team BikeExchange). Egan Bernal seventh remains in the pink jersey. Martin with today’s victory won at least one stage in all 3 great laps: in addition to today’s one he won the sixth stage of the Tour de France in 2018 and the third stage of the Vuelta in 2020.
