Two more gold medals for Italy at the European swimming championships in Budapest 2021. 24 hours after the world record shattered, the blue Benedetta Pilato won the gold medal in the 50 breaststroke. The 16-year-old from Taranto dominated the final by winning her first continental title with a time of 29.35, just 5 cents from the record set yesterday. Second place for the Finnish Ida Hulkko (30.19), and third for the Russian Yuliya Efimova (30.22). The other blue, Arianna Castiglioni, closes in sixth place in 30 ″ 35. Gold also for Margherita Panziera in the 200 backstroke. The 25-year-old from Treviso closes with a time of 2.06.08 in front of the British Wild silver in 2.07.74 and the Hungarian Katalin Burián, bronze in 2.07.87. Fabulous blue also in the 400 medley with Alberto Razzetti who wins the silver medal with the time of 4.11.17 behind the 17 year old Ilya Borodin who closed with a time of 4.10.02. Bronze to the British Max Litchfield in 4.11.56. The other blue Pier Andrea Matteazzi closes in fifth position in 4.12.79.
