The Situation Room, which will guarantee the infomobility service during the Venetian and Friulian stages of the Giro d’Italia, was presented this morning in the Centro Direzionale di Concessioni Autostradali Venete-CAV SpA in Mestre. The opening took place on the occasion of the arrival in the Northeast of the pink race, with today’s stage, the Ravenna-Verona, followed by the Cittadella-Monte Zoncolan on Saturday 22, on Sunday 23 the Grado-Gorizia and on Monday 24 the Sacile-Cortina d ‘Ampezzo. During these four days, with a predictable stressful situation to which the road network affected by the passage of the race may be subjected, the Situation Room will act as a “control tower” for all aspects concerning mobility in the area: traffic, parking, closures and deviations, management of any accidents or criticalities on the network The Situation Room is an operating room with eight workstations, one for each manager involved in the project: Concessioni Autostradali Venete-CAV SpA, Autostrada Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova, SpA Autovie Venete, ANAS (FS Italiane Group), Veneto Strade SpA, Friuli Venezia Giulia Strade SpA, Telepass SpA and Infoblu SpA (Telepass Group) and the Mobility and Traffic Department – Central Mobility of the Municipality of Verona. mobility on the territory, constantly fed by bodies and institutions involved in the passage of the race, such as municipalities, commands and local police consortia. The data thus entered into the system thanks to the Moova platform, of the technological partner Almaviva, will make it possible to return all the information collected in the form of an app, which will therefore be made available to citizens and those who move around the area. From this point of view, the role of the local police is fundamental, a constant eye on the territory, whose work will be precious to feed the platform. The app, reachable at the link https://giroditalia.situationroom.cavspa.it, consists of a map where, by clicking on the available filters, it is possible to know the intensity of traffic in real time, in a framework that is always updated on any critical issues. along the network through a chromatic gradation, but also events that may represent obstacles to traffic (accidents, construction sites, etc.), identified through pictograms, as well as the location and availability of parking spaces. The information to users also concerns the development of the race: two stylized bicycles will represent, along the stage route, the beginning and the end of the pink caravan and therefore will allow, thanks to a georeferencing system that will involve the relays in the race, to know in real time the positioning of the race at any time, always having the complete picture of the closure and reopening of the road network involved. Along the race there will also be the Mobile Control Room, the mobile operations room of CAV, which, positioning itself in the locality of arrival of each stage, will allow to replicate on site, in an effective and timely manner, all the functions of the Situation Room. In this way, all network managers, gathered in a single operating room and in constant direct contact with the positioning of the race, will be able to inform users of every aspect relating to mobility in the area, using the most modern technologies The experience, already experienced last February in Cortina, during the Alpine Ski World Championships, represents a further step towards a single information mobility protocol for all network operators, which may be further developed in the near future, on the occasion of events capable of attracting important numbers of visitors, not least the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games in 2026.
