Footvolley, the title of European Champion 2022 is up for grabs

These are the words of Simone Perrotta, who with the Italy of Football was able to take away the great satisfaction of winning the World Cup in 2006. The former football player charges the Azzurri in view of the Finals Efvl 2022 (European Footvolley League), organized by Playfootvolley with the support of Roma Capitale, Municipality X and Asi (Italian Sports and Social Associations). The European Championships of this spectacular discipline will take place in Rome on 9, 10 and 11 September at the Eschilo 2 sports center in Via Fosso del Dragoncello. 13 Nations participate in the tournament, including Italy, currently in second place in the continental ranking behind Israel. As host country, the Azzurri will present 2 teams, Italy 1 (composed of the Romans Federico Iacopucci and Alain Faccini, fresh from the national title won on Sunday 28 August in Viareggio) and Italy 2 (which will involve the second couple of the Italian ranking, the one made up of romagnoli Andrea Mazzotti and Isli Bejtaga). In addition to Italy, Israel and Spain also field 2 teams, respectively first and third in the general classification. The women’s draw features 8 Nations, including Italy (currently seventh in the European ranking) which includes Sara Cupellini and Elisa Mainardi. The tournament includes a first group phase (4 groups of 4 teams in the men’s field, 2 groups of 4 teams in the women’s one) and a subsequent phase with single elimination matches. The press conference for the presentation of the event will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 7 September, at 11.30 am, at the Council Chamber of Municipio X in Ostia. A gala evening will be held on Friday 9 September at 9 pm, open to the press. Guests of honor of the event are, among others, Simone Perrotta, Cesar Aparecido Rodrigues, Davide Lippi, Alessio Scarchilli, Davide Moscardelli, Jimmy Ghione and Max Tonetto, who plays the role of real ambassador of Italian Footvolley.
