Champions League, 2023 final in Istanbul

The Uefa Executive Committee has today designated the cities that will host the finals of Uefa club competitions in the coming years. Uefa makes it known with a note. After moving the 2021 Champions League final from Istanbul to Porto, it was decided to play the 2023 Champions League final at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. In addition, the opening event of the European club season, which includes the group stage draws of the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Europa League and Uea Europa Conference League, will take place in Istanbul in late August for the 2021/22 and 2022/23. As a result, the 2023 Champions League final, originally scheduled in Munich, will be played in the German city in 2025. Wembley Stadium will retain the right to host the 2024 Champions League final. Following the withdrawal of two host cities of Euro 2020, the Executive Committee approved a settlement agreement to organize some finals of the club competitions in the same cities, recognizing their efforts and financial investments in preparation for the tournament. Therefore, Dublin will host the Europa League final in 2024, while Bilbao will organize the Women’s Champions League 2024 and Europa League 2025 finals.
