“I was afraid of dying in the terrible days when, struggling with the typical symptoms of the disease, I fought a hard battle for survival that I would not have won without the help of faith. But above all I have to thank Our Lady who supported me: without her I would have sunk into an abyss “. Adriano Galliani, CEO of Monza, tells his experience to “Maria con te” of the San Paolo Group. Galliani, for decades a pillar of Silvio Berlusconi’s AC Milan, overcame the covid after a complex battle. “From 10 to 17 March I was in intensive care, a very hard test, especially for me who am claustrophobic. I felt out of this world, anxious to see the blue of the sky again: a nightmare that made me discover the importance of little things taken for granted. I was also precious the closeness, sometimes only virtual by force of circumstances, of true dear friends, first of all Silvio Berlusconi, who never left me alone “. Galliani does not hide the fact that he prayed in those moments when he feared for his life: “In danger I turned to Mary every day. Unfortunately I was not a good Catholic, not always respecting the rules, but in my heart there was no faith never extinguished, understood as a source of hope and strength. In the light of recent events, after an examination of conscience, I realize that I have made a mistake by praying to Mary with such intensity while I feared for my life and I plan to turn to You my thoughts even in the best of times “. The sports manager also made a vow that he now intends to respect: to go on a pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca in Bologna: “I want to thank you for the support you gave me during my illness. I spoke about my experience without rhetoric and not for give of myself an edifying image. It has only the value of a testimony of faith, with a message addressed to those who suffer and to those who, like me, have overcome suffering: we pray in evil, but also in good, because we always need of Maria”.
