Denmark overwhelms Wales 4-0 in the first of the round of 16 of Euro 2020 and flies to the quarterfinals of the tournament. The Danes dominate the match in Amsterdam, breaking the deadlock in the 27th minute with Dolberg controlling the ball on the edge of the area and with a shot on the way to the center: 1-0. The attacker conceded an encore in the 49th minute, crowning an action that Wales contested for an initial foul by Kjaer. The Danish restart is orchestrated by Braithwaite and finished by Williams: Dolberg controls and makes Ward dry, 2-0. The match remains alive and spectacular, Wales wasted at least a couple of chances to reopen the match and collapsed in the final. At 89 Maehle who packs the trio with an unstoppable blow: 3-0. Wales are no more, they remain in 10 for the expulsion of Wilson and in the recovery also collects the fourth goal. Cornelius inspires, Braithwaite enters the scorer’s table with a surgical diagonal: 4-0, Denmark in the quarterfinals where he will face the winner of the Netherlands-Czech Republic.
