Djokovic, Nadal: “Australian Open more important than him”

“The Australian Open is much more important than any player.” These are the words of the Spanish champion Rafael Nadal who comments on the case linked to Novak Djokovic in Australia. “I’m a bit tired of the situation. If he plays in the end, ok. If he doesn’t play, the Australian Open will be a great tournament, with or without him,” adds the Iberian. Djokovic, as he is known, arrived in Australia with a covid vaccine exemption. The Serbian’s visa was not deemed regular by the authorities and the 34-year-old from Belgrade risks expulsion from the country. The case will probably close tomorrow in court with a hearing that should put an end to the affair. Compared to Nadal’s position, the opinion expressed by the Russian Alexander Zverev is different. Djokovic “had a regular visa, didn’t he? I doubt he would have traveled to try his luck, with no guarantees on the possibility of playing the tournament. He is a star, if it had not been for him this whole case would not have been created”.
